Before your session

Yay! You’ve booked a session. And with that I believe your body already knows you’ve committed. The process has begun and healing might begin to happen/organize prior to your arrival. Pay attention to the shifts that will begin taking place inside of you in the next few days or weeks. Spend time listening to your spirit and asking for clarity about the healing that you are ready to embrace through this reclamation. Notice the fears and resistances that may come up for you and acknowledge them with love. Remember the desire that called you to this session and above all, trust the process.

Session Guidelines

  • Please refrain from consuming any alcohol or mind-altering drugs (except necessary prescriptions) before the session.

  • I recommend eating relatively healthy and minimally on the day of your appointment

  • Clothing: This modality is practiced on bare skin usually. If this is too much exposure we can make plenty of modifications. I recommend taking off all jewellery for energy work.

  • Cancellation policy: If you cancel or miss your appointment with less than 24 hours notice you will be charged a $30 cancellation fee.

Arrival

Intake: If this is your very first session feel free to arrive ten minutes earlier to fill out your paperwork. I will answer any questions that you might have as well as explain a few more details.

Let me know if you have any issues with dogs. My dog Charlie is usually tucked away until the very end but i'd be happy to make sure he doesn't make an appearance. He is overly friendly with clients and will sniff heavily for about a minute and then settle down.

All parts of you are welcome in my space. Manager parts that are looking for a very specific outcome. Anxious parts. Distrustful parts. Protective parts that are concerned about vulnerability. Excited or hopeful parts. All of these parts are trying to help you in some way and I have the utmost respect for them. Come as you are.

We begin each session with some IFS work. If you have never heard of IFS or parts work, that is totally fine, I love introducing people to this model. We address all parts concerns and get permission for embodiment before moving forward. My goal is to work in tandem with your delicate inner system to provide the deepest integration possible.

Things to keep in mind during the session

Your only job during is to notice your inner experience, be open to receiving any messages or energy and to keep a good steady breath.

Breathwork: Using breath while you are on the table is one of the most important parts of a session. The breath is in and out of the mouth so that more air can get in to the stuck places. The more you breathe, the deeper into the body you will go. I will demonstrate this to you during your session.

Pain: Sometimes the more we hold emotionally or phsycially, the more painful it can feel when opening. I never want you to feel more than a 7 out of 10 in pain . If at any point, that is the case, you can say 'edge' and I will lessen the pressure. We can stay in communication around that throughout the whole session and you can use those words as many times as you want. This is your body and we can work with it within its pain tolerance in order to have the most effective shifts.

Expectations: For years I spent money and energy into booking with different healers hoping their modality would take my pain away. None of them ever took it all away. But each one gave me a piece. Some healings can be monumental. But they are usually strewn in with showing up to each layer of our trauma, brick by brick. Like one big onion that we are uncovering. One way of preparing for sessions is to notice and get curious about your parts and the expectations they have. Do you have none because you think healing is impossible and you’ve given up hope? Do you want someone to fix it? Do you want to release parts of you that you don’t want? As we get curious about our expectations we can love them fully and then let them go. I think spirit knows when, how and what to bring through when it’s needed. If we trust that the process will unfold perfectly as it should, then each moment will teach us what we need to see.

Music: I believe in the power of music and I play a song at the beginning and end of each session. I do not pick these songs, which makes it fun. I let shuffle do it for me. Sometimes this can lead to songs that have a supportive message for us.

Energy: When the energy gets going, my body will spontaneously start yawning or whistling in order to aid in transmuting. Feel free to ignore!

At the end we will meet one final time to see what may need to be put into words. This can help with piecing it together. Some people prefer to stay in the embodied space and would rather not talk or go into their heads. This is entirely up to you. And we will check inside for the answer.

Post session Integration

ERT can stir up a lot of things within your energy field and subconscious. Therefore, the treatment is not over once you walk out of the door. Your body gets opened up and some of the armoring has been softened, therefore some things might begin to arise after. It is noted that many people feel a sense of openness and expansiveness (their self energy). Others can feel vulnerable, raw and have emotions wishing to come to the surface to complete the theme of the session. Therefore it is important to be gentle & nourishing with yourself. This is also a time to integrate the material and to notice what else needs your attention and self-care.

Once you are home, I recommend drinking lots of water and taking it easy for the rest of the day. Doing integrating activities like walking, taking an empsom salt bath, grounding journalling, sleeping more than usual, talking to a therapist to integrate your session further, meditation, being out in nature, or eating a simple nourishing meal are all great things to do post-session.

Pay attention to what shifts post session. These are the times we can miss the subtle moments of change in our being, beliefs, our thinking, our embodiment, our emotional world and our physical pain/ tension or illness. Notice the places that feel different and more spacious.

When to book again

Follow your intuition! Sometimes you will get the feeling and knowing of when it’s time to get further energetic healing. Some people are going through a rough time and like to schedule a few times a month for additional support. I like to personally book energetic maintenance once a month to aid in my awakening journey. Trust your instincts on how often to book.

Final Note

You are your own healer

During our work together, my hands our guided to the areas of your body that need divine light. I am an energetic conduit for you to access your own self energy. I am not a psychic medium, and cannot predict your path or what is going on inside of your body. But I can help guide you to have your own relationship with your inner light. My sense is that when you keep showing up to your own body and listen, you'll start to hear the inner messages you need to. Each time we dive in you will hear or see something different. The beauty about somatic work is sometimes you truly don't need to know. Healing will sometimes bypass the ego entirely and work directly on the soul.
