Frequently Asked Questions

What does this modality do?

This is a somatic playground. An explorative space to enhance your awareness of what happens inside your mind and body because those aspects of us are typically running the show outside of sessions too. By paying attention to whats happening inside of you as I open up the armoring you can bring more awareness to what story your body is trying to tell. In many ways are trying to complete our unfinished business. This container I offer is a chance to get to know those parts and to help them express and digest the past.

It’s also chance to see what stories run in your head and the deeper meaning behind the sensations in your body. Use all of it as clues and messages to help you on your journey of healing. From the songs that divine shuffle picks for your treatment, to the way the touch feels, your expectations, what you see or feel during the sessions, it’s all material you can take with you.

I also feel passionate about combining IFS with ERT as it provides not just bodywork but also a deeper therapeutic work off the table. Giving us two profound tools on and off the table to dive deeper into the ares of our life where we feel stuck.

What is your goal as a healer?

These are the four agendas I infuse into my work:

  • To use ERT to uncover and give clients the experience of more self energy in their bodies and thus more on this planet.

  • Embodiment. To go deep into the body and allow parts to see that it can be a safe place to reside in.

  • To open up the dense armoring of the physical body and help parts unburden the traumatic material they are holding.

  • To bring curiosity and compassion to each persons systems so that they can have more spiritual awareness of what protectors are running their life and discovering what those parts may need to heal.

Do I lay there and ‘receive’ this treatment?

Yes and no. Whilst most sessions received on massage tables tend to be about getting soemone to work on us, this is different. This is not passive work. This is about you connecting to you. I act as an opener (I know where to open) a witness and a guide. My intention is for you to be deeper connected to your breath, your sensations and what needs to be experienced inside that didn’t get to metabolize. I am also working energetically on you to aid in this inner connection.

Should I talk or stay silent during it?

During your session you may be silent throughout or speak as much as you’d like about what you are noticing on the table. That is entirely up to you and what feels right! Sometimes sounds, noises, toning, or movement can also begin to happen. Full permission to be as expressive or silent as the session needs to be. Your only job during is to notice your inner experience, be open to receiving the energy and to keep a good steady breath.

Should I set an intention?

We can set an intention for each session. But even that can be a place to understand ourselves deeper. Typically our manager parts are the ones setting these. They are wanting to get rid of parts or release trauma so that your life can run smoother. Intentions can help mirror more parts of us that are present. I will be grounding into your intention and wishing that for you as I work on you.

What are sessions typically like?

Each session is different. I have never seen someone come in and have the exact same experience twice. I believe these sessions are a mirror for us to learn deeper about our bodies. Typical ways sessions can manifest are: ancestral work, unburdenings, parts popping up that need attention, buried pain being revealed, self energy being anchored into the body for more peace, calm and clarity. Unexpressed words or emotions arising, energetic clearing and movement throughout the whole body. Becoming aware of protector parts that don’t want us to be in our bodies and much much more! Each body and healing journey is different so it always varies.
